Pages of Human Stories – Partnership
LOCATION
Kaş, Antalya, Türkiye
DATES
10-18 December, 2024
Project Info
The European strategy for 2030 emphasizes countering discrimination and promoting fairness, as seen in Erasmus+ programs. To make society fairer, young people should be involved in decision-making. A project aimed to educate young people about hate speech, unfair treatment, and social exclusion is a way of including young people. It involved creating an event called “Human Libraries,” where they could challenge stereotypes, share personal stories, and foster empathy through cultural exchanges and creative expression, with the goal of broadening their perspectives.
The project “Pages of Human Stories: Youth Living Books” is anticipated to bring transformative results and impacts across various dimensions. For our participants, it aims to cultivate a heightened awareness of discrimination, social exclusion, and hate speech. Through dynamic activities like the “Human Library,” participants will directly challenge stereotypes and broaden their worldviews. This empowerment will enable them to become proactive advocates for inclusivity within their communities, fostering positive change. Ultimately, the project aspires to drive meaningful social change by fostering understanding, challenging stereotypes, and contributing to the creation of more inclusive societies.
Goals
The goals of the project include discussing and exchanging personal experiences, stories, and thoughts on the given topic, increasing awareness of hate speech, unfair treatment, social exclusion, and discrimination, and participating in various activities to upgrade skills such as effective communication, active listening, empathy, critical thinking, and problem-solving. It also aims to empower participants to become advocates for purposeful social changes.

The Power of ART for Cooperation! is an international cultural exchange that will take place in Serbia. Youth from 5 different countries will work 7 days to break some barriers and to build a bridge between them. A concept like traditionalism, stereotypes, integration, regions, identity and much more would be the main topics for discussion. Participants after the YE would feel much more confident to work, cooperate, and meet people from different European countries. They will realize that they share the same values and principles.
Through art, the project aims to improve intercultural dialogue and use it as a tool for the prevention of conflicts by enhancing respect for human rights, democracy, and the rule of law.
